  19. PURPOSE:
  20. ========

  22.     For reading OH.HLP, the online Help file for use with Orpheus 2's
  23.     OH.EXE.  In normal use, OHHELP is called from within OH.EXE when you
  24.     press <F1> for Help.  However, you can also run this as a standalone
  25.     program.

  27.     OHHELP.EXE is a stripped-down version of the Orpheus Reader.  It
  28.     runs only in text mode and does not include the code for handling
  29.     advanced features like script commands and data-entry fields.

  35.     To run OHHELP as a standalone program:

  39.     The file OH.HLP must be in the same directory as OHHELP.EXE.

  42. OH.CFG:

  45.     If OHHELP is able to find the configuration file OH.CFG, which should
  46.     be in the same directory as OHHELP.EXE, OH.EXE, and your other program
  47.     files, it will use the color values and printing setup stored therein.
  48.     If it cannot find OH.CFG, Help uses default values.

  51. USER INTERFACE:
  52. ===============

  54.     The online Help system for Orpheus 2 was developed as an Orpheus project
  55.     using OH.EXE.  In other words, I wrote it exactly the way any Orpheus
  56.     user would write his or her own projects.  The user interface that you
  57.     see in Help -- the layout, command buttons, keyboard behavior -- was
  58.     developed as part of the project.  It is NOT hard-coded into OHHELP.EXE!

  60.     Orpheus 2 gives you the same freedom to determine the appearance and
  61.     functionality of your own works.  See Help on the Layout Dialog
  62.     (Project Menu->Screen Layout).

  65. MAKING YOUR OWN HLP FILES:

  68.     At the moment, OH.EXE will only assemble a Help file if commanded by
  69.     by the guy who wrote it.  However, there are plans afoot to release an
  70.     extended version of Orpheus, ORPHEUS PROFESSIONAL, which would include
  71.     the ability to assemble any project to either HTX or HLP format.  This
  72.     would enable authors to develop their own foreign-language versions of
  73.     Help for the Reader, or indeed to release projects that use OHHELP.EXE
  74.     as the Reader itself.
